The Bear Inn is appreciated for its great location offering gorgeous views over Derbyshire. Guests often enjoy the delicious Steak and Ale Pie served with triple-cooked chips. The bar area has a lot of character, and the Inn is conveniently located for those visiting Wirksworth and the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. great team decorated room amazing food unclear entrance steep stairs unemptied bin
we had our wedding evening do there in november 2024. the team were great, nothing was too much for them. they even sorted the dj and cake for us and decorated the room for our arrival! the hog roast was amazing, i'm still receiving compliments on the food now.
the pictures online did not reflect what i experienced. the entrance was not obvious, it was at the back of the building! access to the room was via steep stairs, and the smell and signs of damp were overwhelming. the waste bin in the bathroom had not been emptied.

varied menu portion size excellent food fire door thick dust small room
The food tasted great. Portion sizes were generous. I chose the 'Little Bear' breakfast. I tried several breakfast options and each one was excellent.
I noticed cobwebs on fire doors. There was detritus on the carpet too. The room was small, given the cost.
